Typically the Triangle Chapter of ASHRAE operates on a FY (Fiscal Year) from July 1st through June 31st.
In general terms, the core-business held during the meetings are as follows:

  • September: the first meeting of the FY.
  • November: The membership is told that a Nominating Committee will be formed, to evaluate candidates, and accept nominated candidates from the floor.
  • December: Typically the chapter only meets for a holiday party.
  • January: The Nominating Committee is formed.
  • March: The Nominating Committee presents the next years ballots to the membership, prior to the March meeting, or by announcement at that meeting.
  • April: Specimen Ballots are sent to all members entitled to vote.
  • May: Prior to this meeting, all Committee Chairs present their reports to the President for a summary presentation during this meeting.
This meeting shall be the "Annual Meeting", where the most business is handled.
The election for the next year's leadership team is held during this meeting, and the results announced before the end of the meeting.
  • June: If a meeting is held in June, then the new leadership team is introduced and installed, otherwise this happens at the end of the May Meeting.

Note: The Triangle Chapter has chosen to typically meet on the 2nd Wednesday of any month having a meeting, with some held during noontime, and others in the early evening. There is a Summer Hiatus of business meetings after the last business meeting in the spring, (May or June), until the September meeting. During the summer months, the leadership team will be meeting monthly to organize for the upcoming FY events.
