The Triangle Chapter of ASHRAE is planning
a Day on the Hill.
The goal of the visit is to
share information about ASHRAE and
introduce ourselves as industry experts
to our Senators and Congressmen.

08:30 AM - Meet at the café (and eat breakfast if desired)
09:00 AM - Briefing starts

09:30 AM - Head over to the Legislative Building
01:30 PM - Done

The plan is to first gather in the Daily Planet Café,
(within the downtown NC Natural Resources Center museum, the one with the huge globe, but at the other end of the building).

Tim & Adam will brief everyone on what's next.
We'll then walk across the street to the Legislative Building as a group and visit as many legislators as we can

This will be the third annual event hosted by the Triangle Chapter GAC Committee that allows statewide ASHRAE members an opportunity to interact with North Carolina State legislators. The Government Advocacy Committee builds relationships with government officials to educate them about ASHRAE and our local experts, technical resources, standards and guidelines. ASHRAE plays a vital role in the built environment and the DotH Event provides face-to-face time with influential government officials to promote discussions around sustainable practices by our members.

Volunteer participation is very important towards our goal of establishing long term relationships with State legislators. The visit will include scheduled sit-downs with representatives and breakout groups to walk the halls of the NC Legislative Office.   I encourage all that can make the date to come out to a fun and exciting opportunity to learn more about North Carolina government!

If you have any questions feel free to reach out to either of our Governmental Activities Committee (GGAC)
Co-Chairs: Adam Sippel at [email protected] or Tim Ashby [email protected]
