ACEEE State Report Card

The 13th edition of the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy’s (ACEEE's) State Energy Efficiency Scorecard has been released. The document is a progress report on state policies and programs that save energy, while producing environmental and economic benefits. States that are leading the way include Massachusetts, which ranked number one, as well as California, Rhode Island, Vermont, and New York. Maryland is the most improved state, with both Hawaii and New Jersey also showing significant improvements. The report illustrates how an increasing number of states are showing leadership in energy efficiency and clean energy by adopting ambitious goals and energy-saving rules for buildings, as well as appliances and vehicles. ACEEE also produces a scorecard for cities each year, which came out this past July.
